K2 is 8,611 meters tall and sits on the border between Pakistan and China in the Karakoram range. It is the second-highest mountain on earth and has a reputation among climbers as far more unforgiving than Everest. The base camp trek does not require you to climb anything technical, but it takes you deep into one of the most remote mountain regions on the planet, past more eight-thousanders per kilometer than anywhere else on earth.
It is a long, physical, properly demanding trek. People who have done it tend to say it is unlike anything else they have experienced. That is not marketing language. The Baltoro Glacier alone earns that description.
